IGP: We’ll probe ‘spies’ allegations

PUTRAJAYA: Claims of people “spying” on children rescued from Global Ikhwan Services and Business Holdings (GISB) homes will be investigated, says the Inspector-General of Police.

Tan Sri Razarudin Husain confirmed the matter when asked to comment on the issue previously raised by Women, Family and Community Development Minister Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri.

“There are many safe houses, so we will investigate the matter,” he said when met at the Home Ministry headquarters here after the ministerial monthly meeting.

In a related matter, the IGP said the 22 people linked to GISB who were charged yesterday were also investigated under the Security Offences (Special Measures) Act 2012 (Sosma).

“Those who haven’t finished their remand period, we will still investigate. Those who have finished we have given police bail.

“There are also those at large that we are still pursuing,” he added.
