KUALA LUMPUR: A National Anti-Corruption Strategy (NACS) dashboard is currently being developed to allow the public to monitor the progress of each sub-strategy, says Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said.
The Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Law and Institutional Reforms) said that the dashboard will function similarly to the Auditor-General’s Dashboard system.
“If a sub-strategy is completed, its effectiveness—be it through study findings, policies, or legal aspects—can also be observed by the public,” she told the Dewan Rakyat on Thursday (Oct 24).
Azalina was responding to a query from Syed Ibrahim Syed Noh (Pakatan Harapan-Ledang) regarding the progress of the NACS, which was launched earlier this year.
As of October, Azalina reported that various NACS initiatives have already been implemented, including the publication of guidelines for managing and governance among federal statutory bodies on April 30.
“This will strengthen the process of appointing chairpersons and board directors, empower internal audits, and establish a Federal Statutory Bodies System to oversee these bodies,” she explained.
Among the initiatives expected to be completed next year are the Freedom of Information Act and the Government Procurement Act, among others.
The NACS, which replaces the National Anti-Corruption Plan, was launched by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim in May.
The previous plan, the NACP, which concluded last year, successfully implemented 85 initiatives or 77% of the total 111 initiatives.
Meanwhile, the NACS focuses on enhancing the well-being of the people through the Malaysia Madani agenda.
