AN 80kg crocodile was captured in a rubber plantation in Kampung Padang Buluh, Besut, Terengganu.

According to Harian Metro, Terengganu Wildlife and National Parks Department (Perhilitan) director Loo Kean Seong said eight officers were dispatched after villagers spotted the crocodile at around 10pm on Tuesday.

“The reptile likely came from a nearby lake and wandered into the plantation,” he explained.

The 2.7m-long crocodile was safely captured that night and returned to its original habitat the following afternoon.

Loo urged the public to contact Perhilitan directly about wild animals in residential areas instead of posting on social media, which could attract the attention of poachers.

The 24-year-old said the man in the photos was not him and that he had never been in a relationship with the girl.

“I was really surprised because it clearly wasn’t me when I looked at the picture, so I am wondering why I got called out. I want to emphasise that it’s not me in those photos.
