M’sia condemns attack on Turkish Aerospace Industries


PUTRAJAYA: Malaysia has strongly condemned the attack on the headquarters of Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI) in Kahramankazan, located 40km north of Ankara, on Wednesday which resulted in multiple deaths and injuries.

Wisma Putra confirmed that no Malaysians were reported to have been affected by the incident.

“Malaysia expresses its deepest condolences and sympathies to the government of the Republic of Turkiye and the families of those who have lost their lives, and wishes those injured a speedy recovery,” it said in a statement yesterday.

Wisma Putra said the Embassy of Malaysia in Ankara was closely monitoring the development.

“All Malaysians in Turkiye are advised to remain calm, stay vigilant and follow the latest updates and guidance the local authorities provide,” it added, Bernama reported.

According to the local Anadolu Agency, two terrorists who attacked TAI facilities were “neutralised” while five people were killed and 22 were injured, a top official announced Wednesday evening.

Turkyish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan had condemned the terrorist attack.
