RM75,000 of essential items handed to Malbatt for Lebanon relief mission

KUALA LUMPUR: Over RM75,000 worth of items including school bags, stationery kits, towels, baby diapers and vitamins have been handed over to the Malaysian Battalion 850-12 (Malbatt 850-12).

The contribution of essential items, in support of the contingent's upcoming civil-military coordination mission in Lebanon, was brought to Malbatt Village in Port Dickson, Negri Sembilan.

The aid was courtesy of the Armed Forces Fund Board (LTAT) and its group of companies.

The essential items requested by the contingent for local communities in Lebanon were provided by Boustead Holdings Berhad, Boustead Plantation Berhad, Boustead Petroleum Marketing Sdn Bhd, Boustead Heavy Industries Corporation, Boustead Properties Berhad and Pharmaniaga Berhad.

LTAT chief executive officer Ashraf Radzi said the board was deeply committed to supporting the Armed Forces both in its service to the nation and in humanitarian missions abroad.

"This initiative reflects our dedication to the welfare of military personnel and our responsibility to assist communities in need, especially in times of conflict.

"We are proud to stand with Malbatt and contribute to their efforts in Lebanon.

"This initiative underscores LTAT’s commitment to supporting Armed Forces personnel and assisting those affected by the ongoing conflict in Lebanon," he said in a statement on Friday (Oct 25).

Ashraf said the contribution drive showcased the collective strength of LTAT and its group of companies.

"They each played a key role in providing this mission-specific support, underscoring our commitment to national initiatives beyond Malaysian borders,” he added.

A handing-over ceremony was held at Malbatt Village on Thursday (Oct 24), symbolising the unified support of LTAT and its group of companies for the mission in Lebanon.
