Shots fired at cable thief suspect near Gurney Drive


GEORGE TOWN: Police have opened fire at a car attempting to flee on Jalan Kelawei, near Gurney Drive, here on Friday (Oct 25).

The car, which suffered a puncture on its front left tire, is said to be caused by the gunshot at about 5pm on Friday (Oct 25). Its front side window was also found to be shattered.

It was learnt that police had pursued the suspect in his 30s for alleged involvement in cable theft.

Equipment linked to the crime is believed to have been found in the car.

Further investigations are being conducted on the scene, with the suspect already arrested.
