Crowd throngs myStarJob Fair 2024 at Mid Valley Convention Centre

KUALA LUMPUR: Fresh graduates are making a beeline to the myStarJob Fair 2024 at the Mid Valley Convention Centre this weekend.

Organised by the Star Media Group, the two-day fair is an all-in-one hiring platform specially curated for employers and job seekers.

Muhammad Shukri Ismail, 23, said he was looking for job opportunities in the marketing department at the fair.

“I have some experience under the protégé programme. Currently, I am looking to shift my field of expertise.

“What I’ve gathered from the companies so far is that they want someone who is able to expand their skill sets,” said the administrative science graduate when met at the fair on Saturday (Oct 26).

Electronic engineering (Mechatronic) graduate, Muhammad Helmi Roslan, said he was able to gain insight as to what employers were looking for among potential job candidates.

“The fair is quite useful as I’m able to meet personally with the recruiters and they are able to share some information on what they seek in a candidate. The responses have been positive so far,” said the 27-year-old.

The fair, which starts today, is hosting over 40 companies representing industries and sectors such as oil and gas, healthcare and finance.

Among the highlights is the job-matching initiative, where recruiters and potential employees can have a sit-down interview at the event.

The sit-down interviews would be held with various companies at selected sessions. Those who are interested can find out more at the job-matching counter at the venue.

The myStarJob Fair 2024 will be held until Sunday (Oct 27). Admission is free.
