MetMalaysia issues thunderstorm warning for seven states


KUALA LUMPUR: Thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds are expected in seven states until 9pm on Saturday (Oct 26).

The Malaysian Meteorological Department, in a statement at 6.20pm, said the states are Kedah (Langkawi, Sik and Baling) and Perak (Kerian, Larut, Matang and Selama, Manjung, Bagan Datuk, Hilir Perak, Batang Padang and Muallim).

Similar weather conditions are expected in Terengganu (Dungun and Kemaman); Pahang (Raub, Jerantut, Temerloh, Maran, Kuantan, Bera, Pekan and Rompin) as well as Johor (Segamat).

Also listed is Sarawak, namely in Sri Aman, Betong (Pusa and Betong), Miri (Beluru, Telang Usan and Marudi) and Limbang, while in Sabah, it involves the interior (Sipitang, Tenom, Keningau and Tambunan), west coast (Tuaran, Ranau and Kota Belud) and Sandakan (Tongod, Telupid, Kinabatangan and Sandakan). - Bernama
