Eight suspects nabbed for alleged kidnapping of Chinese national


SEPANG: A total of eight suspects have been arrested as the investigation into the kidnapping of a Chinese national here continues.

Acting Sepang OCPD Supt Shan Gopal Krishnan, when contacted, said the police have arrested two additional men and a woman, bringing the total number of arrests to eight.

"All are still under remand. The main suspect is still being pursued," he said.

Previously, Selangor Police Chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan said that the victim was stopped by a car at the Putrajaya toll plaza while en route to Kuala Lumpur International Airport on Oct 18.

"Four foreign nationals got out of the car and kidnapped the victim, who was then taken and locked up in a premises in the federal capital. A ransom of RM300,000 was demanded from the victim’s family," he said.

The victim was found on Oct 19 at Kuala Lumpur Hospital after jumping out of a building to escape.

Following this, the police arrested four of the suspects, with another local man arrested on Oct 22.
