KUALA LUMPUR: Two men were arrested and more than RM4mil worth of drugs were seized in a raid at a condominium in Bandar Baru Seri Petaling here.
Bukit Aman Narcotics Crime Investigation Department (NCID) director Comm Datuk Khaw Kok Chin said the two men, aged 25 and 21, were detained when police stopped them at the lift on Oct 23.
Inspection on both suspects led to packages containing suspected syabu and heroin.
“The raiding team then inspected a condominium unit there, leading to the discovery of 100 blue packages of suspected syabu and an additional 15 packages with the word ‘daguayin’, which we suspect to contain syabu.
“The team also discovered 40 more packages of suspected heroin.
“In total, the police seized 124kg of suspected syabu and 21kg of suspected heroin with a combined value of RM4.18mil,” Comm Khaw said here yesterday.
A rented car was also seized, which the police believed had been used for drug delivery.
“One of the suspects was believed to be a storekeeper with a pay of RM5,000 monthly while the other was his assistant who was paid a daily stipend for expenses from the first suspect.
“The syndicate operated by using low-cost condominiums as storehouses before distributing the drugs within the Klang Valley,” Comm Khaw said.
He said checks also showed that one of the two suspects had a criminal record.
“The NCID is conducting further investigations to trace members of the syndicate, who are still at large,” he added.
