Cops seize 22 boxes of illegal fireworks in Saujana Damansara raid


PETALING JAYA: Authorities seized 22 boxes of illegal fireworks during a raid on a double-storey terrace house in Saujana Damansara.

Petaling Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Shahrulnizam Ja'afar said the operation took place at about 4.30pm on Tuesday (Oct 29).

Each box contained 40 units of the eight-foot Happy Boom Red Cracker, with the total value estimated at about RM13,000.

A 42-year-old man, believed to be the supplier, was detained.

The investigation is being conducted under Section 8 of the Explosive Material Act 1957.

ACP Shahrulnizam warned the public against participating in illegal activities.
