Motorcycle accident in Rembau claims teenager's life

REMBAU: A 17-year-old girl died in an accident at kilometre 32.1 of the Jalan Seremban-Tampin in Pekan Chengkau on Wednesday night (Oct 30).

Rembau district police chief, DSP Shaik Abd Kadar Shaik Mohamed, said Nurul Khaiira Mohd Zamri, who was riding a motorcycle, was pronounced dead due to severe injuries after colliding with a car driven by a 27-year-old man.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the accident occurred while the victim was travelling from her home in Seremban Jaya towards Tampin.

Upon reaching the scene, her motorcycle collided with the right side of the car, which suddenly made a U-turn from the left shoulder of the road in the same direction to return towards Pekan Rembau.

Shaik stated that the car driver was uninjured, and the victim's body was taken to Rembau Hospital's forensic unit for a post-mortem examination.

The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987. - Bernama
