KOTA KINABALU: A single mother of five from Kuala Lumpur aims to mark her name in the Malaysia Book of Records for making the most climbs on Mount Kinabalu in a single expedition.
Kartina Abdul Ghani, 53, completed her first few climbs starting Oct 15, and has several more to go until Nov 9, making it a total of nine climbs during the duration.
This ambition is also aimed at promoting digital innovation while launching her mobile applications on top of Mount Kinabalu.
In a short statement, she shared that she hopes to bring a message that blends endurance, digital transformation, and artificial intelligence (AI) to the public, hoping to inspire Malaysians and the global audience by showcasing the ease of mobile app development and proper AI usage through her flagship AMB Drag & Drop Mobile Apps Builder Toolkit.
This expedition is also part of Kartina’s training towards her ultimate goal - climbing Mount Everest in 2026.
During this Mount Kinabalu expedition, she will publish a brand-new app directly to the Google Play Store and Apple App Store using her low-code/no-code platform every time she reaches the summit.
“My goal is to show how simple it is for users of all skill levels to create mobile apps, even without technical backgrounds,” she said, adding she will also use this opportunity to educate the public on AI prompting techniques.
Based on Kartina’s research, 97% of AI users are not leveraging AI tools correctly.
By conducting live demonstrations from the summit, she will showcase how to properly use AI for personal and business growth, creating excitement around the potential of AI technology.
Speaking on her preparations towards her Everest expedition, she said her climbs up Mount Kinabalu are just the beginning.
“This expedition marks the start of a rigorous training plan designed to prepare me for Mount Everest in 2026,” said Kartina.
She also said that she would be undergoing altitude training in Poland, as well as training climbs at Mt Muztagata, Mt Lobuche and Mout Manaslu as well as the Everest Base Camp.
KartIna’s nine climbs of Mount Kinabalu will take place over three weeks starting from Oct 14 till Nov 9, 2024.
