Easier for national parties to tackle Sabah matters at federal level, says Perikatan

KOTA KINABALU: Perikatan Nasional and Bersatu have good chances in the upcoming Sabah polls as they are national parties, said Datuk Seri Ronald Kiandee.

The state Perikatan chairman said local voters are veering national parties as they can work with federal agencies to better resolve matters affecting the state.

Kiandee claimed that some are starting to see that the "Sabah for Sabahans" narrative is just for political mileage.

"Many... are choosing to look at a national perspective when it comes to politics and development for the state," he said in a statement on Monday (Nov 4).

He said people want leaders who can bring development to the state and address issues faced by the people, raise them at national level and bring solutions instead of just talk.

Kiandee said many issues are still plaguing the state, such as infrastructure development, which need to be dealt with at federal level.

"It is clear that we have to bring our problems faced here in Sabah to the national level, as matters can be solved and issues can be heard as well as highlighted better at the federal level," he stated.
