No Malaysians affected by floods in Spain, says Wisma Putra

KUALA LUMPUR: No Malaysians have been affected by the flash floods in Valencia, Spain, says the Foreign Ministry.

In a statement on Monday (Nov 4), Wisma Putra, provided an update on the situation.

"The Malaysian embassy in Madrid has been actively monitoring the aftermath of the floods caused by heavy rain which began on the evening of 29 October. So far, no Malaysians have been reported to be directly involved in the disaster," it said.

It was reported that the historic floods in the eastern Valencia region have killed 213 people.

The ministry also issued an advisory for Malaysians in Spain.

"Malaysians residing in Spain, especially in the affected regions, are advised to be vigilant and comply with the latest advisories and directives from local authorities.

Those in need of assistance are encouraged to maintain close communication with the Malaysian embassy in Madrid," it said.

The ministry added it will continue to monitor the situation closely and provide timely updates to ensure the safety and well-being of Malaysians in the region.
