IN today’s fast-evolving landscape, staying updated on industry changes is essential for professionals across sectors.
Conferences have emerged as invaluable platforms that provide a concentrated view of what’s happening within a specific field, offering attendees a unique glimpse into new products, services, regulatory changes, and market dynamics.
By gathering experts, thought leaders, and practitioners in one space, events such as the upcoming Star ESG Summit 2024 equip attendees with the knowledge and foresight needed to stay competitive and informed.
Dedicated to promoting sustainable development and fostering environmental, social, and governance (ESG) integration across sectors, Star Media Group’s (SMG) inaugural ESG Summit will be held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC) from Nov 6 to 7.
The two-day conference brings together industry professionals, investors and experts focused on integrating ESG principles into business practices.
In an era where sustainability is not merely an option but a necessity, this summit emphasises the ambitious goal of achieving net-zero emissions by 2050, presenting a unique opportunity for attendees to explore the latest advances and cutting-edge technologies in sustainable business practices.
The agenda features a range of enlightening discussions and informative sessions that will delve into pivotal topics such as carbon emissions reduction, the transition to renewable energy sources, carbon capture, utilisation, and storage (CCUS), and the implementation of eco-friendly operational methods.
Plenary sessions throughout the event will offer practical guidance on navigating various business, regulatory and trade developments, including carbon border adjustments and sustainable supply chains.
Participants will have the opportunity to curate their own schedules with a choice of three streams: Stream 1 focuses on governance and sustainable reporting; Stream 2 addresses economic security and value chain decarbonisation; and Stream 3 caters to those interested in digital transformation.
Greenie Web founder and chief executive officer Dr Ian Chew will talk about the concept of a digital carbon footprint, shedding light on how our digital activities contribute to environmental impact. He will share practical, accessible actions that individuals can take to lower their digital carbon footprint and introduce the SWUP Framework, designed to help corporations kickstart their journey toward digital sustainability.
UN Global Compact Network Malaysia and Brunei (UNGCMYB) executive director Faroze Nadar will present on “Humanising sustainability: growing the talent pool for ESG impact”, while Thoughts in Gear chief executive officer Margie Ong will talk about “Building resilient supply chains: ESG-driven sustainable pathways.”
