MACC to continue recording statements from FashionValet founders on Nov 6

PUTRAJAYA: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) will continue taking statements from the founders of the ecommerce platform FashionValet, Vivy Yusof and Datuk Fadzaruddin Shah Anuar on Wednesday (Nov 6).

Sinar Harian reported that the recording session, which began on Tuesday (Nov 5), was completed at 10pm and would be continued at 10am the following day.

Earlier, Vivy and Fadzaruddin arrived at the MACC to testify regarding a RM43.9mil loss incurred by Permodalan Nasional Berhad (PNB) and Khazanah Nasional Berhad when they invested in FashionValet Sdn Bhd.

MACC Chief Commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki confirmed that the investigation is being conducted in accordance with Section 18 of the MACC Act 2009. The couple was among six individuals whose conversations were recorded following raids at four locations by the MACC.

On Monday (Nov 4), the Finance Ministry informed the Dewan Rakyat through a written reply that Khazanah and PNB had recovered RM3.1mil from selling shares in FashionValet to a Bumiputera company, NXBT Partners, in 2023. This amount is significantly less than the RM47mil invested by Khazanah and PNB in 2018, which included RM27mil and RM20 mil, respectively, for minority stakes in FashionValet.

Consequently, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, who also serves as Khazanah chairman, has ordered an internal audit to investigate the investment losses.
