KL cops ready to help in probe of missing RM1mil

KUALA LUMPUR: City police are ready to assist in the investigation of RM1mil that went missing from a mall in Ampang.

Kuala Lumpur police chief Comm Datuk Rusdi Mohd Isa (pic) said the contingent is ready should Selangor police request help.

"At the same time, we will channel any information received on our end to Selangor police.

"We are neighbouring contingents and always ready to help," he told reporters here on Thursday (Nov 7).

It was reported that a bag filled with RM1mil went missing at the mall on Wednesday (Nov 6).

Ampang Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Azam Ismail said a police report was lodged by a security company after the collection process at a bank there at 3.55pm.

"We are investigating under Section 379 of the Penal Code.

"We will (provide updates on) any development in the investigation," he said

It is learnt that the money bag went missing after the security company's van driver realised the vehicle door was open.
