PUTRAJAYA: Malaysia has strongly condemned an attack by Israeli forces on a United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (Unifil) vehicle which directly impacted the Malaysian Battalion (Malbatt), says Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil.
He said the attack, which injured six Malbatt personnel, has sparked grave concern as it affects Malaysia’s peacekeeping troops in the region.
According to Fahmi, the Cabinet meeting on Friday (Nov 8) discussed the incident in which an Israeli strike targeted a vehicle near a bus transporting Malbatt personnel.

Fahmi reaffirmed the government’s firm stance against the continued attacks on Lebanon and Unifil.
He said Malaysia’s unwavering commitment to its peacekeepers within Unifil underscores its call for an end to violence in the region, as the safety of UN peacekeeping personnel remains a priority.
