RM1mil missing from shopping complex found

PETALING JAYA: The RM1mil that went missing from a shopping complex has been found.

A male security guard and one woman were arrested on Wednesday in connection with the case, said Ampang Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Azam Ismail.

“The bag was found near Ampang Point,” he said.

Selangor deputy police chief Deputy Comm Datuk Sasikala Devi Subramaniam said the bag was recovered on Wednesday, the same day it was reported missing.

“It wasn’t that long (after) the incident... we received word that the money had been found.”

The money bag was found along Jalan Hulu Kelang heading towards the Ampang–Kuala Lumpur Elevated Highway (Akleh).

The bag was believed to have fallen out of the security company van as it made a turn.

On Wednesday, a police report was lodged following the collection process at a bank at 3.55pm.

It was learnt that the bag was found missing after the van driver realised one of the vehicle’s doors was open.
