Two men, including air force personnel, killed in motorcycle crash in Sungai Petani


]SUNGAI PETANI: Two men, including an air force personnel, were killed when the motorcycles collided along Jalan Kampung Kubang Sapi, Sidam Kiri near here at about 7pm on Friday (Nov 8).

Kuala Muda district police chief ACP Wan Azharuddin Wan Ismail said Muhammad Amyrul Safuan Fadzil, 31, who is assigned to the engineering division of the air force base in Kuala Lumpur was on his way from Sidam Kiri to Pinang Tunggal when Muhammad Hambalee Ishak, 27, who was coming from the opposite direction, lost control of his Yamaha Y15ZR and hit the front of Muhammad Amyrul’s Yamaha NVX.

"Muhammad Amyrul suffered injuries to his head and was confirmed dead at the scene, while Muhammad Hambalee also suffered injuries to his head and was confirmed dead as well,” he said in a statement on Friday.

Preliminary investigations indicated that the negligence of the Yamaha Y15ZR rider who failed to control his vehicle caused the accident.

"Both victims have been taken to the Sultan Abdul Halim Hospital’s forensics unit here for autopsy and the case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987," he added. - Bernama
