GEORGE TOWN: The husband of the woman who was fatally stabbed by a man at the lift foyer of an apartment in Farlim, Ayer Itam on Thursday has denied that they were separated.
Mohamad Shazwan Hafizi Badrul Kamal, in his 30’s, said claims that his late wife, Siti Zulaila Zulkifli, 30, was already divorced are untrue, reported Sinar Harian.
"The allegation that we had separated is not true.
"It is upsetting that people are spreading such slander against my late wife.
"I am saddened by this incident, coupled with the inappropriate allegations.

"It has affected us as a family," he was quoted saying at the funeral of his late wife and father-in-law here on Friday (Nov 8) night.
Mohamad Shazwan said that he hoped the suspect would be justly punished for killing his wife and father-in-law.
In a double homicide and attempted suicide on Thursday (Nov 7) afternoon, a 32-year-old man stabbed Siti Zulaila and her father, Zulkifli Ibrahim, 62, to death in front of the lift area at their apartment block in Air Itam.
It is learnt that the murder-suicide incident may have been triggered by the woman's rejection of the man's advances.

In the incident that occurred at 12.54pm, both victims were confirmed dead at the scene of the incident due to severe injuries.
The suspect sustained injuries as well after slashing and stabbing himself.
The suspect who is currently being treated at the Penang Hospital is in a stable condition.

He has been remanded for seven days, which will end on Nov 14.
It was reported earlier that Penang police chief Comm Datuk Hamzah Ahmad said the case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
"We have arrested the suspect and seized the murder weapon.
"The case is considered solved and we are now investigating the motive from various angles," he said.
