Boyfriend, foster sister of teen who fell from 16th-floor of Penang condo test positive for drugs, say cops


GEORGE TOWN: Police have arrested the boyfriend and foster sister of a teen girl who was found dead after allegedly falling from the 16th floor of an apartment in Farlim here, Malay language daily Sinar Harian reports.

Acting Northeast OCPD Supt Lee Swee Sake (pic), said that the arrests were made on Sunday (Nov 10), after urine tests on both individuals returned positive for drugs.

According to him, the suspects are aged 18 and 19 years old.

"They were detained at the Northeast district police headquarters at 5:55am and 6:05am after testing positive for drugs.

"The case is being investigated under Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952," he said when contacted by Sinar Harian here on Sunday.

Earlier, it was reported that a 15-year-old girl was found dead, believed to have fallen from the 16th floor of an apartment in Farlim on Saturday (Nov 9).

The girl's body was discovered by members of the public at approximately 11:45pm, who then reported the incident to the police.

It is understood that there were cut marks on the girl's left arm, and she is believed to have fallen from her room on the 16th floor of the apartment.

Supt Lee previously said that police investigations found no criminal elements in the incident, and the case had been classified as sudden death.
