The people of Ayer Hitam are always my priority, says Dr Wee

PETALING JAYA: My priority has always been the people of the Ayer Hitam constituency, says Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong.

The Ayer Hitam MP said, in a Facebook post Sunday (Nov 10), that it is his responsibility, alongside Yong Peng assemblyman Ling Tiang Soon and Semarang rep Datuk Samsolbari Jamali, to secure funds and allocations for the people.

"Today, I allocated RM625,000 to 16 communities in the Ayer Hitam constituency, covering schools, mosques, police stations and clinics.

"It also includes funding for the construction of two community halls," the MCA president said, adding that the funds would be transferred directly to the recipients' accounts.

In his speech, Dr Wee also urged those who had received the funds to expedite the projects for the benefit of the community.

Meanwhile, in another Facebook post, Dr Wee said that the Deepavali celebration at the Yong Peng Community Hall was an event for everyone in the community.

“If you want to see a true celebration of our community’s diversity in a harmonious atmosphere, Ayer Hitam is one of the best places to be.

“There are many interesting spots here too, so come visit and experience its uniqueness.

“This was exactly what it was like at the Deepavali celebration,” the Ayer Hitam MP said.

Also present at the celebration were Yong Peng assemblyman Ling Tian Soon; Yong Peng District Council president Ahmad Nazri Rebu; Ayer Hitam Umno deputy chief Kamarul Haron, Ayer Hitam MIC chief Manickam Batumalai; Ayer Hitam Wanita Umno chief Sarimah Mohd Rafie, Ayer Hitam MIC Youth chief, Samuel Silvarj, Ayer Hitam Wanita MIC chief Dr Thanmoli Peariasamy and Yong Peng District Council member Gunalan Manickam.
