Two held over missing RM1mil out on bail

KUALA LUMPUR: Police have released the two security guards who were detained for questioning over a bag containing RM1mil that had gone missing on Nov 6.

Ampang Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Azam Ismail confirmed the matter saying that both have been released on police bail.

“The investigation paper is being completed and will be passed on to the deputy public prosecutor’s office in the near future,” he said.

He added that the person who had found and returned the bag had also been detained and released on police bail.

It was reported that the bag containing the cash had fell out of the vehicle transporting it from a shopping complex in Ampang.

The bag supposedly fell out while the vehicle was negotiating a sharp turn.

A police report was lodged on the same day of the incident and the two security guards were picked up later at 10pm.

The cash was returned the next day by a member of the public.
