Bung backs Hajiji's call for full probe on whistleblower's claim

KOTA KINABALU: Sabah Barisan Nasional chairman Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin fully backs Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor's call to investigate a whistleblower's corruption claims fully.

Bung Moktar, who is Sabah Umno chief, said that Hajiji was right to ask the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) to investigate the case in view of growing public interest.

"It will be in the best interest of Sabah and the people for the case to be investigated fully," he said.

He said that the GRS government should be transparent about the issues raised by the whistleblowers in the case.

Bung Moktar said this late Tuesday (Nov 11) after Hajiji called on the MACC to investigate and arrest the whistleblower who claims to be in possession of secretly recorded videos of his conversations discussing bribes with top GRS leaders in government.

The unnamed businessman sought protection from MACC for whistleblowers through his lawyer on Oct 30 before he lodged a report.

The businessman's suspected identity is being widely shared on social media.
