A 14-YEAR-OLD boy who had been missing for five days was found safe at home, admitting that he had sneaked off to a friend’s house to play video games, according to Utusan Malaysia.
The teenager, who had initially claimed to be feeling unwell and stayed home from school, left his house without telling his parents, sparking a lengthy search before he eventually returned.
According to Kluang district deputy police chief Supt Nik Mohd Azmi Husin, Muhammad Syawal Abdullah was found in his home at around 3.30am on Saturday by his parents.
The teenager, who is the fourth of five siblings, told his parents that he had gone to his friend’s house in Kampung Melayu in Kluang, Johor, to hang out and play video games.
“The teenager also said he went home during the five days when his parents were not at home, to eat and bathe,” said Supt Nik Mohd.
> Singer Illa Sabry, 45, admitted she is feeling anxious to be making a comeback after 20 years, albeit on a reality TV show, Kosmo! reported.
Illa said knowing that she would be competing against other divas such as Ning Baizura and Liza Aziz would not stop her from delivering her best performance in the 11th season of Gegar Vaganza (GV11).
“I am pretty nervous about performing because it’s been a long time since I’ve been active in singing.
“I realise that all the participants have their strengths and can provide stiff competition. Nevertheless, I will try my very best,” she said.
To prepare for the competition, Illa said she had been attending vocal classes since before the first week’s concert on Nov 24.
“Since I hadn’t sung for a long time and now wanted to sing again, I needed to undergo a lot of training because some other participants are still active in the industry.
“I will exercise and continue attending vocal classes to gain stamina during performances.
“Since it’s been 20 years since I last sang, many of my vocal techniques needed improvement,” she added.
Illa is among the 14 participants who will vie for the title and a cash prize of RM100,000.
Other participants include Ronnie Hussein, Reshmonu, Sheila Abdull, Fairuz Selamat, Arrora Salwa, Zehra Zambri and Nai Dinamik.
