Close bilateral ties between Malaysia and China is a core diplomatic policy, says Dr Wee


PETALING JAYA: The close bilateral ties between Malaysia and China is a core diplomatic policy for our country as international trade plays a significant role in our country's economy, says Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong.

"This because it brings substantial benefits to our economic development efrorts, with China being our largest trading partner for 16 consecutive years," said the MCA president on Facebook on Tuesday (Oct 12).

He was speaking at the dinner reception for the Asean New Economy Leadership Programme by Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business and Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman.

"As national leaders, it is our responsibility to promote our country to potential investors so that Malaysia is chosen as their investment destination.

"My heartfelt appreciation to former prime minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob for graciously accepting the invitation to officiate the dinner reception and Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Deputy Minister Datuk Seri Ramanan Ramakrishnan for his attendance and being a speaker at the event on the second day of the programme," added Dr Wee.
