Daim renewed his legal practising licence to visit Anwar in prison, reveals Tian Chua

PETALING JAYA: Tun Daim Zainuddin renewed his legal practising licence to see Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim in prison when he was incarcerated, says PKR founding member Chua Tian Chang.

In a statement on his Facebook page, the former Batu MP said that Daim had also predicted Barisan Nasional's downfall in the 14th General Election in 2018.

“Daim was a politician with a brilliant mind. After former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak’s 1MDB scandal, he supported Pakatan Harapan.

“His support was pivotal for the regime change in 2018.

“Deepest condolences to his family. May his soul rest in peace,” said Tian Chua.

Former finance minister Daim passed away at the age of 86 on Wednesday (Nov 13).
