Flipped tanker lorry on NSE has been removed


IPOH: The tanker that had flipped to its side and blocked the road at KM313 southbound of the North-South Expressway on Tuesday (Nov 12) has been removed.

When contacted, Tapah OCPD Supt Mohd Naim Asnawi said the vehicle was towed away on Wednesday (Nov 13) at about 9.30am.

The tanker was reported to have lost control and turned on its side on Tuesday at about 8pm, causing a massive traffic snarl late into the night.

Supt Mohd Naim said during the incident, a jeep, which was driven by a 69-year-old man, had also crashed into the tanker.

"Both the jeep and tanker driver, 57, were not seriously injured.

"An investigation paper under Section 43(1) of the Road Transport Act has been opened," he said.

"Those with information about the incident can contact the Tapah district police station at 05-401 1222.

"We wish to advise the public to always drive carefully and courteously, and to be patient while on the road," he added.

Meanwhile, PLUS Malaysia Bhd's said on X, that the work to remove the tanker has been completed.

"Traffic is smooth sailing in both directions," it said, while also advising motorists to drive carefully.
