A LANDLORD and his friends spent four days clearing seven truckloads of garbage after his female tenant moved out from the apartment, reported China Press.
The landlord, known only as Xi, was hit by a foul smell as he reached the door of his 50sq m unit in Hohhot, North China’s Inner Mongolia autonomous region.“When I opened the door, I was shocked.
The whole apartment was covered in garbage, with no space to walk,” he said.
Xi said the unit was filled with trash, including soft toys, drinks bottles, snack wrappers, instant noodle bowls and drink cups.
He said the floor, sofa, table and kitchen counter were covered with leftover food and stacked with plastic bags.
“Even the sofa and curtains were covered in mould. I almost threw up! It was unbelievable. An apartment turned into a garbage dump,” he told the daily.
Angry and saddened by the state of the property, Xi decided to highlight the incident online.
He said he rented the unit to the young woman thinking that a female tenant would likely keep the place clean.
He did not inspect the apartment during the rental period.
After the pictures went viral, many people were shocked, with some commenting: “I don’t understand, how could anyone live like this? I can’t imagine how she could stay there for six months.”
> Malaysian singer Penny Tai has opened up about her battle with vertigo, Sin Chew Daily reported.
She said during the Covid-19 pandemic quarantine in 2021, she suffered dizziness while alone in her room and felt helpless.
“I thought I was done for, with no one to help me,” she recalled.
She had to rely on a telemedicine service to get treatment and was eventually diagnosed with benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV).
She said flying and performing usually don’t trigger symptoms, but she has to avoid any sudden movements in her daily life.
“When it happens, it feels like the room is spinning,” she said.
Tai, a Golden Melody Award-winning singer, was speaking to reporters after choosing Double 11 (Nov 11) to release her new album Twin Flame in Taipei.
