MetMalaysia: Severe weather expected nationwide until 4pm today


PETALING JAYA: Thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds are expected in parts of Peninsular Malaysia, Sabah and Sarawak until 4pm on Wednesday (Nov 13).

The Meteorology Malaysia Department (MetMalaysia) issued a warning at 11.45am of thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds in Kedah (Kuala Muda, Sik, Baling, Kulim and Bandar Baharu), Penang, Perak, Kelantan (Bachok, Machang, Pasir Puteh and Kuala Krai), Terengganu (Besut, Setiu and Hulu Terengganu), Pahang (Cameron Highlands, Lipis, Raub, Bentong, Temerloh, Kuantan, Bera, Pekan and Rompin), Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya, Negri Sembilan, Melaka and Johor.

Severe weather is also expected in Sarawak: Kuching, Serian, Samarahan, Sri Aman, Betong, Sarikei, Sibu and Mukah (Tanjung Manis, Daro, Matu and Dalat) as well as in Sabah: West Coast (Kota Belud), Tawau (Tawau and Semporna) and Kudat.
