Flood alert: Several roads in KL inundated after downpour


PETALING JAYA: Flash floods have been reported in parts of Kuala Lumpur following heavy rain on Friday (Nov 15) afternoon.

Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL), in a Facebook post, said among the areas affected were Jalan Pudu and Jalan Sultan (Petaling Street).

DBKL also said that as at 2.45pm, the water levels in the main rivers in the city were at normal levels and the situation was under control.

"DBKL personnel are monitoring the current situation and road users are advised to be cautious and stay vigilant.

Meanwhile, the Malaysian Meteorological Department has issued an advisory warning of heavy rains, thunderstorms and strong winds for 10 states, including Selangor, Kuala Lumpur and Penang.

The advisory is until 5pm. Malaysia is currently experiencing the Northeast Monsoon.
