Selangor govt proposes RM3bil Budget for 2025


SHAH ALAM: The Selangor state government has proposed an estimated Budget of RM3bil for 2025.

Out of this amount, RM1.7bil or 56.7% will go towards operating expenditure and RM1.3bil, or 43.3%, will go towards development expenditure.

Themed Dynamic Selangor: Perfect Aspirations of Malaysia Madani (Selangor Dinamik: Cita Sempurna Malaysia Madani), the Budget will focus on five core thrusts:

1) Artificial intelligence and education as catalysts for the state’s economic development;

2) Maintaining the intent for a sustainable environment and quality infrastructure;

3) Cultivating a caring state;

4) Advocating an efficient and capable administration; and

5) Remodelling cultural economy and youth development.

This year’s proposed Budget is slightly higher than 2024’s RM2.53bil budget out of which RM1.33bil (52.6%) had gone towards operating expenses and RM1.2bil (47.4%) towards development expenses.
