Driver rescued after car plunges into Mines Lake

PETALING JAYA: A car plunged into Mines Lake in Seri Kembangan after its driver is believed to have accidentally stepped on the accelerator instead of the brakes.

A grainy TikTok video of the incident, which has since gone viral, shows the car submerged in the water and a woman screaming for help.

The video also showed a boat with several security workers heading towards the vehicle.

The TikTok video by social media user Kak Diamond Channel was viewed by 30,000 viewers and liked by nearly 10,000 users.

The user said the woman was rescued but not the car which sank at the spot.

Several netizens questioned the absence of a barricade near the lake, which could have prevented the unfortunate incident.
