Ex-Johor state secretary Abdul Latiff Yusof passes away


JOHOR BARU: Former Johor state secretary Datuk Abdul Latiff Yusof has passed away. He was 71.

Abdul Latiff, who was also the Johor Royal Court Council secretary, breathed his last at 1.01pm on Saturday (Nov 16).

The state’s royal family members Tunku Temenggong Johor Tunku Idris Iskandar Al-Haj Ibni Sultan Ibrahim and princess Tunku Tun Aminah Sultan Ibrahim paid their last respects to the late Abdul Latiff at his family home here.

Johor Royal Court Council president Datuk Dr Abdul Rahim Ramli was also present.

Johor Mentri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi also offered his condolences to Abdul Latiff’s family on his passing.

“Received sad news of his passing. May he be placed among the righteous,” he said in a Facebook post.

The late Abdul Latiff served as the state secretary from 2006 until 2011.

He is survived by his wife Datin Safiah Aris, four children and 10 grandchildren.
