10 detained during anti-vice op in KL

KUALA LUMPUR: A nightclub that offered the services of local guest relations officers (GROs) was raided by the police on Tuesday (Nov 19).

In an operation codenamed "Ops Noda KL Strike Force", a team of police officers and personnel from KL D7, led by Asst Supt Khairul Fairoz Rodzuan, raided the entertainment outlet on Jalan Kuchai Lama at about 3.30am.

A total of 103 individuals, aged between 23 and 53, were inspected by the police. There were attempts by several female workers to flee the scene but to no avail.

Kuala Lumpur police chief Comm Datuk Rusdi Mohd Isa said a local woman and nine foreign workers, who worked as waiters, were detained in the operation.

"The foreign workers consisted of five from Bangladesh, three from Myanmar and a Cambodian," he said when contacted today.

Several equipment, including audio system and business receipts were seized, he added.

"All those detained were brought to the Brickfields police headquarters for further investigation," he said.
