REMBAU: The police are currently investigating allegations that their officers extorted a Saudi Arabian man.

Rembau District Police Chief Superintendent Shaik Abd Kadar Shaik Mohamed said a police report regarding the incident was received on Monday (Nov 18).

"The incident occurred while the complainant was driving his vehicle on the North-South Expressway (Plus) northbound in the Rembau district before being stopped by the police.

"The man claimed to have been extorted by several police officers, and an investigation is underway under Section 384 of the Penal Code," he stated on Tuesday (Nov 19).
