Jelutong student who fell off school building died of head and neck injuries, post-mortem finds


GEORGE TOWN: The 14-year-old student who fell from her school building died from head and neck injuries, police said.

George Town OCPD Asst Comm Abdul Rozak Muhammad said the post-mortem at Penang Hospital on Tuesday (Nov 19) found the injuries were the cause of death "secondary to a fall from a height".

Earlier, ACP Abdul Rozak said police did not suspect any criminal element in the student's death.

It was reported on Monday (Nov 18) that a secondary school student died after falling from the eighth floor of her school building in Jelutong.

The 14-year-old victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

The incident was reported by a medical officer at the Penang Hospital at 5.57pm.
