No criminal element in death of Jelutong schoolgirl, say cops


GEORGE TOWN: Police do not suspect any criminal element in the death of a Form Two student in Jelutong who fell from her school building.

"At this point of the investigation, we have found no criminal element in the incident," George Town OCPD Asst Comm Abdul Rozak Muhammad said on Tuesday (Nov 19).

However, he said, they were still awaiting the results of the post-mortem conducted earlier this morning.

It was reported on Monday (Nov 18) that a secondary school student died after falling from the eighth floor of her school building in Jelutong.

The 14-year-old victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

The incident was reported by a medical officer at the Penang Hospital at 5.57pm.
