Teen dies in fall from Kuching apartment building


KUCHING: A 16-year-old girl died after falling from the upper floors of an apartment building here.

According to Sinchew Daily, the girl died on the spot due to head injuries.

The incident occurred at 6am on Tuesday (Nov 19).

Padawan OCPD Supt Mohd Irwan Hafiz Md Radzi confirmed the incident and said it had been classified as a Sudden Death Report.

The girl lived with her family on the 12th floor of the apartment in Jalan Batu Kawa.

It is believed that her parents noticed she was missing early in the morning and tried calling her phone, but received no answer.

Police investigators have since gone to the apartment to conduct inquiries.

The girl’s body was sent to the Sarawak General Hospital at 8.27am.
