PETALING JAYA: This Dec 2 the public will get a rare look into how policies, strategies, and trends are developed by both federal and state governments during the fifth World Association Presidents’ Conference (WAPC).
Themed “Accelerating Trade Liberalisation and Promoting Economic Globalisation”, the multi-national conference will feature a number of national leaders, including both Deputy Prime Ministers, several Cabinet Ministers and Deputy Ministers, and state government leaders.
To be held at Wisma MCA in Kuala Lumpur, this edition of the conference will be the first organised outside of China and will see leaders share their exclusive insights on national policies and directions.
Among the speakers will be Deputy Prime Ministers Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof; Investment, Trade and Industry Minister Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Abdul Aziz and many others.
The event will consist of four main segments: a main forum, business-matchmaking sessions, a closed-door roundtable for world presidents and CEOs, and a gala dinner celebrating the 50th anniversary of Malaysia-China diplomatic ties.
The event will be jointly organised by the Malaysian Chinese Association (MCA), the Malaysia-China Friendship Association, and the China Enterprises Chamber of Commerce in Malaysia.
Speakers will cover a range of topics, including technology, innovation, investment, trade, tourism, Malaysia-China relations, as well as the policies and directions of both the federal and state governments.
“This conference aims to foster international cooperation and promote the integration and development of the global economy.
“Through in-depth discussions from the speakers, participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of the nation's development policies, strategies, and trends,” MCA Publicity Bureau said in a statement on Wednesday (Nov 20).
The conference is also expected to see the gathering of over 700 leaders and entrepreneurs from around the world, providing the public with a rare opportunity to meet with and interact with these influential individuals.
