Thunderstorms, strong winds expected over west coast of peninsula until 9pm


PETALING JAYA: Thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds are expected over parts of Peninsula Malaysia, including Selangor, Penang and Putrajaya.

In an advisory issued by the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) at 6.50pm on Wednesday (Nov 20), the areas affected are the entire states of Penang, Perak and Melaka.

Other areas are Selangor (Sabak Bernam, Kuala Selangor, Klang, Petaling, Kuala Langat and Sepang), Putrajaya and Negri Sembilan (Seremban, Port Dickson, Kuala Pilah, Rembau and Tampin).

Also seeing rains and strong winds are Kedah (Kuala Muda, Baling, Kulim and Bandar Baharu).

The advisory is until 9pm.

Malaysia is currently experiencing the northeast monsoon.
