Over RM23mil in arrears owed by federal land development agencies, says Kelantan MB

KOTA BARU: More than RM23.4mil in premium arrears and other payments have not been settled by federal land development agencies in Kelantan.

Kelantan Mentri Besar Datuk Mohd Nassuruddin Daud (pic) said the agencies involved are Felcra Berhad with RM14.75mil, Federal Land Development Authority (Felda, RM1.55mil) and South Kelantan Development Authority (RM7.13mil).

He said the state government had taken appropriate steps such as issuing Notice 5A and also held negotiations with the agencies involved.

"Any land approval that is not accompanied by payment to Notice 5A is void but for areas subject to the Land Act (Group Settlement Areas) 1960, the disposal of land by the government to other applicants is necessary to comply with the requirements of the Act itself," he said.

He was replying to a supplementary question by Wan Rohimi Wan Daud (PAS-Melor) at the State Legislative Assembly meeting at Kota Darulnaim Complex, who asked about land scheme agencies which had failed to pay premiums. – Bernama
