Thunderstorms, heavy rain predicted for Selangor, four other states this afternoon


PETALING JAYA: Thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds are forecast for five states, including Selangor this afternoon.

In an advisory issued by the Malaysia Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) at 12.45pm on Thursday (Nov 21), thunderstorms are expected over Selangor (Sabak Bernam, Kuala Selangor and Klang) and Perak (Kerian, Larut, Matang and Selama, Kuala Kangsar, Manjung, Kinta, Perak Tengah, Kampar, Bagan Datuk and Hilir Perak).

Also affected is Johor (Tangkak, Segamat and Muar).

Rain is also expected in Sarawak (Kuching, Serian, Samarahan, Sri Aman and Betong) and Sabah (Sandakan and Kinabatangan).

The advisory is in effect until 4pm.

Malaysia is currently experiencing the northeast monsoon.
