However, for now, neither Bukit Aman nor the authorities in Myanmar have any information on Jho Low's whereabouts, he added.
"We will assist each other," he added, commenting on lawyer Tan Sri Muhammad Shafee Abdullah's claim that Jho Low was hiding in Myanmar under the protection of its generals.
Shafee, defence counsel for former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak, said word of Jho Low's whereabouts initially pointed to Dubai, China or Macau.
However, during Najib's 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB) trial, Shafee said the testimony of key prosecution witness Jasmine Loo, the former 1MDB general counsel. pointed to Myanmar.
"From (what she said when) I grilled Loo, I think he is in Myanmar, protected by the generals," he said during a session with the media and public on 1MDB and other cases here on Tuesday (Nov 19).
Shafee said that according to Loo's testimony, Low had arranged a fake Myanmar passport for her to also enter the strife-torn country.
He had been asked at the session about Jho Low's whereabouts and why it was difficult to find him.
