NEE plates fetch RM4.58mil in record bidding


SEREMBAN: The state Road Transport Department has received a record RM4.58mil through the bidding exercise for the NEE registration plate series.

State JPJ director Hanif Yusabra Yusuf said the NEE 9 registration plate received the highest bid at RM266,666 while NEE 8 was sold at RM188,123.

The bidding exercise was opened from Nov 15 to 19 with the NEE series receiving a very good response from the public with a total of 4,661 bids.

“Overall, 1,936 bidders were successful,” he said.

NEE 3 was sold at RM158,999 followed by NEE 7 (RM148,888) and NEE 6 (RM141,600).

Hanif Yusabra said the number that received the most bids was NEE 554 with 19 bids.

This was followed by NEE 288 (16) and 15 each for NEE 244, NEE 26 and NEE 98.

“The JPJ would like to congratulate the successful bidders, who were informed of the outcome on Nov 20,” he said.
