Continuous rainfall alert extended to six states until Nov 29


PETALING JAYA: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has extended a continuous rainfall alert (Level: Caution) for Kelantan, Terengganu, and Pahang, effective until Nov 29.

In a statement on Saturday (Nov 23), MetMalaysia announced that the affected areas include the entirety of Terengganu and several districts in Kelantan, namely Tumpat, Pasir Mas, Kota Baru, Jeli, Tanah Merah, Bachok, Machang, Pasir Puteh, and Kuala Krai. In Pahang, the alert covers Jerantut, Kuantan, Pekan, and Rompin.

Additionally, a similar alert was issued between Nov 26-Nov 29covering the whole of Perlis and parts of Kedah, including Kubang Pasu, Pokok Sena, Padang Terap, Pendang, Sik, and Baling.

In Pahang, it extends to Cameron Highlands, Lipis, Raub, Bentong, Temerloh, Maran, and Bera, while the affected areas in Perak include Hulu Perak, and in Kelantan, Gua Musang.

Continuous rainfall is also expected in Sabah, specifically in Sandakan (Telupid, Beluran, and Sandakan) and Kudat, until Nov 25. - Bernama
