I am ready to be suspended, sacked from PKR for criticising govt, says Pasir Gudang MP

PASIR GUDANG: Pasir Gudang MP Hassan Karim says he will not appeal against any decision made by the PKR disciplinary board on Sunday (Nov 24), following his recent criticism of the government.

He told Malay language daily Sinar Harian that he was open and ready to accept any decision, including if he is suspended or expelled from the party.

"I was called in for a hearing or trial with the party disciplinary board on Thursday Nov 21) but no decision was made.

"They just provided the party disciplinary board's view and said they would refer to the PKR political bureau and then to the PKR leadership council, chaired by president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

"So, the decision will be made tomorrow (Sunday)," he told Sinar Harian on Saturday (Nov 23).

Hassan was brought before the party's disciplinary board after he was found criticising the government over the appointment of the second 5G network operator.

In addition, PKR had seen Hassan as damaging the party's image by making public statements on the matter.

Meanwhile, Hassan said he respected any decision of the party's disciplinary board and does not want to make excessive statements that could influence the determination later.

He said that so far, he was satisfied with the party's disciplinary board acting professionally including sending a letter asking him to show cause first and asking for a response within seven days.

"I answered the letter and was called for a hearing, they listened (explanation), in this regard I praise this party (PKR), it does what it says on this matter," he said.
