Sabah to consider allocating special aid for Form Six students, says Hajiji

KOTA KINABALU: Sabah is considering proposals to provide assistance to Form Six students in the state, according to Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor.

He noted that this initiative is part of the state government's efforts to support education and develop human capital, which is central to the Sabah Maju Jaya development agenda.

"The state government prioritises education and human capital development. We have increased allocations for education and are considering aid for Form Six students," he said in a statement.

Hajiji highlighted that the state scholarship, amounting to RM127mil for next year, is available to assist eligible students pursuing tertiary education.

He outlined various assistance programmes, including the one-off Bantuan Tunai Pendaftaran IPT, Bantuan Ihsan Komputer, Bantuan Khas Peperiksaan, Bantuan Ihsan Tabungan Pendidikan Negeri, Anugerah Kecemerlangan Pendidikan Sabah, Bantuan Aktiviti PIBG, Bantuan Ihsan Sekolah Sabah, and Bantuan Khas Program Pendidikan.

He made these remarks while officiating at the new Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Rugading building in Tuaran on Saturday (Nov 23).

Hajiji emphasised that Sabah, as a responsible state, strives to ensure the younger generation receives a strong basic education, equipped with skills and knowledge relevant to global challenges.

This ensures they grow into educated, skilled, and confident individuals, he said.

Earlier, during the officiating ceremony, he expressed support for the suggestion to build a new school in the Rugading area due to increasing student enrolment annually.

This would allow students to study in a comfortable and conducive environment and enable teachers to perform their duties more effectively.
